Translation and interpreting in a clinical context: a case study
This presentation aims to shed light on the challenges facing translators and interpreters when working in a clinical context in Portugal. By means of a case study, real examples will be used to demonstrate the ethical and cultural factors involved and the difficulties and peculiarities of this type of work. In addition, suggestions will be provided on how to improve the experience for the client (patient/family), the interpreter/translator and the healthcare practitioner.
